I am founder of FOCUSZART The Focusing Studio for Art Therapy and Expressive Arts Focusing

FOCUSZART The Focusing Studio is located in South Germany close to the Black Forrest. We are engaged in teaching Focusing in the national Focusing Community since 2001

Our Focusing Models of Training (MOT) are compatible to the MOT of the German Focusing Association DFG and the MOT of the German-Swiss Focusing Network FN recorded at the TIFI website. We use various Focusing approaches for our certification programs at all levels as well as for our tutorials

FOCUSZART hosted the 2016 EFA European Focusing Association's meeting in Germany offering a forum for various workshops in Community Wellness Focusing

More About My Background


My professional training started with a year-long preliminary internship in design crafts before studying Design Techniques with artist and Folkwang teacher Prof. Franz Rudolf Knubel. I finished the three-year program of undergraduate studies at the University of Duisburg-Essen in 1983

I was a participating artist at the Kaiserlautern International Stone Sculpture Symposium when art friends introduced me to Art Brut and art therapy. My interest in therapeutic art practice made me build a second career

I hold two Pre-Bologna masters in Clinical Psychology and Adult Education from the Free University of Berlin and the Eberhard Karls University Tübingen. I also hold a Diploma of Advances Studies in Art Therapy from the Catholic University of Freiburg. My thesis work does 454 pages in total (qualitative research and theory) 

I specialized in Person-centered and Experiential Psychotherapy, Intermodal Focusing and Focusing Oriented Expressive Arts FOAT®. Previor trainings in Body-Therapy are backing up these practices

I am working as clinical therapist in private practice for 30 years, teaching Focusing nationally and internationally for 20 years 

I am offering Expressive Arts Focusing based 1:1 sessions, creative arts workshops and art classes online and at adult education art centers and institutions of Continuing Education. Deom 2022 - 2024 I was guest lecturer for Focusing and the Expressive Arts at the Department for Curative Education of the Catholic University Freiburg
